CSV

Setup Guide

Follow these steps to connect CSV to your Connect AI account:

1. Open the Sources page of the Connect AI navigation menu.

2. Click + Add Connection in the upper-right corner.

3. Type CSV into the search field, then click the data source name.

4. On the Basic Settings tab of the new connection, enter a connection name or keep the default name.

5. Enter the URI for the CSV resource location.

6. (Optional) Enter the FMT. This specifies the file format that the provider uses to parse all text files. The default value is CsvDelimited.

7. (Optional) Toggle on Aggregate Files. This specifies whether the provider aggregates all files with the same schema in the specified folder into a single table called AggregatedFiles.

8. (Optional) Toggle on Include Column Headers. This specifies whether the provider derives column names from the first row of each file.

9. Select the Connection Type, which specifies the file storage service, server, or file access protocol through which your CSV files are stored and retrieved. Then proceed to the relevant section and follow those instructions.

Connection Types

Amazon S3

1. Select the AWS Region from the drop-down list. This is the hosting region for your Amazon Web Services.

2. (Optional) Enter the Storage Base URL. This specifies the URL of a cloud storage service provider.

3. Select the Auth Scheme to use when connecting to remote services. Then select the tab for your authentication scheme and follow those instructions.

Authentication Methods

AwsRootKeys

1. Enter the AWS Access Key. This value is accessible from the AWS security credentials page.

2. Enter the AWS Secret Key. This value is accessible from the AWS security credentials page.

3. (Optional) Enter the MFA Serial Number. This is the serial number of the MFA device, if one is being used.

4. (Optional) Enter the MFA Token. This is the temporary token available from your MFA device.

5. (Optional) Enter the Temporary Token Duration. This is the amount of time in seconds the temporary token will last.

6. At the top of the Connect AI Add Connection page, click Save & Test.

   • If the connection test succeeds, a Connection successfully saved message appears, indicating that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated. View the data model of your successful connection in the right pane of the Edit Connection page, in the Data Model tab.
   • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Connect AI displays error messages under the required fields with missing data. Some data sources require that you sign in directly to the source website. If you did not, an error message appears under the Sign in button. Correct the errors and try again.
   • Unsuccessful connections are saved as drafts and have a Status of Not Authenticated. You can return to the connection and authenticate it later.

AwsEC2Roles

1. No additional settings are required for this authentication method.
2. At the top of the Connect AI Add Connection page, click Save & Test.

   • If the connection test succeeds, a Connection successfully saved message appears, indicating that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated. View the data model of your successful connection in the right pane of the Edit Connection page, in the Data Model tab.
   • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Connect AI displays error messages under the required fields with missing data. Some data sources require that you sign in directly to the source website. If you did not, an error message appears under the Sign in button. Correct the errors and try again.
   • Unsuccessful connections are saved as drafts and have a Status of Not Authenticated. You can return to the connection and authenticate it later.

AwsIAMRoles

1. Enter the AWS Access Key. This value is accessible from the AWS security credentials page.

2. Enter the AWS Secret Key. This value is accessible from the AWS security credentials page.

3. Enter the AWS Role ARN. This is the Amazon Resource Name of the role to use when authenticating.

4. (Optional) Enter the AWS External Id. This is a unique identifier that might be required when you assume a role in another account.

5. (Optional) Enter the MFA Serial Number. This is the serial number of the MFA device, if one is being used.

6. (Optional) Enter the MFA Token. This is the temporary token available from your MFA device.

7. (Optional) Enter the Temporary Token Duration. This is the amount of time in seconds the temporary token will last.

ADFS

1. Enter the User that the provider uses to authenticate.

2. Enter the Password used to authenticate the user.

3. Enter the identity provider’s SSO Login URL.

4. (Optional) Toggle on Use Lake Formation. When this property is set to true, AWSLakeFormation service is used to retrieve temporary credentials, which enforce access policies against the user based on the configured IAM role. The service can be used when authenticating through OKTA, ADFS, AzureAD, PingFederate, while providing a SAML assertion.

5. (Optional) Enter the SSO Properties. These are additional properties required to connect to the identity provider, formatted as a semicolon-separated list.

6. At the top of the Connect AI Add Connection page, click Save & Test.

   • If the connection test succeeds, a Connection successfully saved message appears, indicating that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated. View the data model of your successful connection in the right pane of the Edit Connection page, in the Data Model tab.
   • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Okta

1. Enter the User that the provider uses to authenticate.

PingFederate

1. Enter the User that the provider uses to authenticate.

2. Enter the Password used to authenticate the user.

3. Enter the identity provider’s SSO Login URL.

4. Enter the SSO Exchange URL. This is the URL used for consuming the SAML response and exchanging it for service specific credentials.

5. (Optional) Toggle on Use Lake Formation. When this property is set to true, AWSLakeFormation service is used to retrieve temporary credentials, which enforce access policies against the user based on the configured IAM role. The service can be used when authenticating through OKTA, ADFS, AzureAD, and PingFederate, while providing a SAML assertion.

6. (Optional) Enter the AWS Principal ARN. This is the ARN of the SAML Identity provider in your AWS account. You must specify the Principal ARN to use during authentication in the event you have multiple Identity Providers in your AWS Account.

7. (Optional) Enter the SSO Properties. These are additional properties required to connect to the identity provider, formatted as a semicolon-separated list.

8. At the top of the Connect AI Add Connection page, click Save & Test.

   • If the connection test succeeds, a Connection successfully saved message appears, indicating that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated. View the data model of your successful connection in the right pane of the Edit Connection page, in the Data Model tab.
   • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. AwsTempCredentials

1. Enter the Access Key used to authenticate to AWS. This value is accessible from your security credentials page.

2. Enter the AWS Secret Key. This value is accessible from the AWS security credentials page.

3. Enter the AWS Session Token. See the AWS Documentation for more information about the session token.

4. At the top of the Connect AI Add Connection page, click Save & Test.

   • If the connection test succeeds, a Connection successfully saved message appears, indicating that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated. View the data model of your successful connection in the right pane of the Edit Connection page, in the Data Model tab.
   • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Connect AI displays error messages under the required fields with missing data. Some data sources require that you sign in directly to the source website. AwsCredentialsFile

1. No additional settings are required for this authentication method.

AzureAD

1. (Optional) Toggle on Use Lake Formation. When this property is set to true, AWSLakeFormation service is used to retrieve temporary credentials, which enforce access policies against the user based on the configured IAM role. The service can be used when authenticating through OKTA, ADFS, AzureAD, and PingFederate, while providing a SAML assertion.

2. (Optional) Enter the OAuth Client Id (also known as the consumer key) assigned to your custom OAuth application. This ID is required to identify the application to the OAuth authorization server during authentication (custom OAuth applications only).

3. (Optional) Enter the OAuth Client Secret assigned to your custom OAuth application. This confidential value is used to authenticate the application to the OAuth authorization server (custom OAuth applications only).

4. At the top of the Connect AI Add Connection page, click Save & Test.

   • If the connection test succeeds, a Connection successfully saved message appears, indicating that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated. View the data model of your successful connection in the right pane of the Edit Connection page, in the Data Model tab.

Keycloak

1. Enter the Keycloak Realm URL. This specifies the full URL to the Keycloak server, including the specific realm used for authentication and authorization.

2. (Optional) Enter the OAuth Client Id (also known as the consumer key) assigned to your custom OAuth application. This ID is required to identify the application to the OAuth authorization server during authentication (custom OAuth applications only).

3. (Optional) Enter the OAuth Client Secret assigned to your custom OAuth application. This confidential value is used to authenticate the application to the OAuth authorization server (custom OAuth applications only).

4. (Optional) Enter the Scope of the authenticating user’s access to the application. If a custom OAuth application is needed, this is usually specified at the time the application is created.

5. (Optional) Enter the OAuth Authorization URL for the OAuth service.

6. (Optional) Enter the OAuth Access Token URL from which the OAuth access token is retrieved.

7. At the top of the Connect AI Add Connection page, click Save & Test.

   • If the connection test succeeds, a Connection successfully saved message appears, indicating that your connection has been created. 1. Enter the name of your Azure Storage Account.

2. Enter the OAuth JWT Cert, which is the name of the client certificate’s JWT certificate store.

3. Select the OAuth JWT Cert Type, which is the type of key store containing the JWT certificate.

4. (Optional) Enter the OAuth Client Id (also known as the consumer key) assigned to your custom OAuth application. This ID is required to identify the application to the OAuth authorization server during authentication.

5. (Optional) Enter the Scope of the authenticating user’s access to the application. If a custom OAuth application is needed, this is usually specified at the time the application is created.

6. (Optional) Enter the OAuth Authorization URL for the OAuth service.

7. (Optional) Enter the OAuth Access Token URL from which the OAuth access token is retrieved.

8. (Optional) Enter the OAuth JWT Cert Password. This is the password for the OAuth JWT certificate used to access a password-protected certificate store. If the certificate store does not require a password, leave this property blank.

9. (Optional) Enter the OAuth JWT Cert Subject of the OAuth JWT certificate used to locate a matching certificate in the store. Supports partial matches and the wildcard ’*’ to select the first certificate.

10. At the top of the Connect AI Add Connection page, click Save & Test.

    • If the connection test succeeds, a Connection successfully saved message appears, indicating that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated. View the data model of your successful connection in the right pane of the Edit Connection page, in the Data Model tab.
    • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Connect AI displays error messages under the required fields with missing data. Some data sources require that you sign in directly to the source website. AccessKey

1. Enter the Azure Access Key, which is the storage key associated with your Azure account.

2. At the top of the Connect AI Add Connection page, click Save & Test.

   • If the connection test succeeds, a Connection successfully saved message appears, indicating that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated. View the data model of your successful connection in the right pane of the Edit Connection page, in the Data Model tab.
   • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Connect AI displays error messages under the required fields with missing data. Some data sources require that you sign in directly to the source website. If you did not, an error message appears under the Sign in button. Correct the errors and try again.
   • Unsuccessful connections are saved as drafts and have a Status of Not Authenticated. You can return to the connection and authenticate it later.

AzureStorageSAS

1. Enter the Azure Shared Access Signature, a shared access key signature that may be used for authentication.

2. At the top of the Connect AI Add Connection page, click Save & Test.

   • If the connection test succeeds, a Connection successfully saved message appears, indicating that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated. View the data model of your successful connection in the right pane of the Edit Connection page, in the Data Model tab.
   • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Connect AI displays error messages under the required fields with missing data. Some data sources require that you sign in directly to the source website. If you did not, an error message appears under the Sign in button. Correct the errors and try again.

Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2

1. Enter the name of your Azure Storage Account.

The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated. View the data model of your successful connection in the right pane of the Edit Connection page, in the Data Model tab.
   • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Connect AI displays error messages under the required fields with missing data. Some data sources require that you sign in directly to the source website. If you did not, an error message appears under the Sign in button. Correct the errors and try again.
   • Unsuccessful connections are saved as drafts and have a Status of Not Authenticated. You can return to the connection and authenticate it later.

OneLogin

1. Enter the User that the provider needs to authenticate.

2. Enter the Password used to authenticate the user.

3. (Optional) Enter the SSO Properties. These are additional properties required to connect to the identity provider, formatted as a semicolon-separated list.

4. At the top of the Connect AI Add Connection page, click Save & Test.

   • If the connection test succeeds, a Connection successfully saved message appears, indicating that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated. View the data model of your successful connection in the right pane of the Edit Connection page, in the Data Model tab.
